disagreed, first off I want the resolution so I know what I’m getting, also brackets keep things organized, you remove those then you’ll have idiots thinking a show is called One Outs b2e… and generally groups stick with one format for their file names anyways

your format looks like something dvd/tv rippers do, not sure about you but most subbers don’t want to be associated with that shit

It’d be nice if everyone did it the same, but if you think about it realistically, it’s not something that’s likely to ever happen. =_=

Everyone has different opinions on what’s needed in the file name, so making a standard would be difficult. For example, I prefer that the group name is in []brackets and at the start, and that the the resolution is included, as I tend to search for my releases by group, res, and size, in that order. The res is an important point me, since when a series gets uploaded to mirrors by the global leech population, they rarely include that sort of information with the download specs. Really irritating. >_>

Group consistency is a better aim to me, rather than standard naming conventions, especially with longer series. But even that isn’t such a big deal if you separate everything into folders by series and season on your hard drive. They do a random thing for each episode, so at least everything is in blocks of the same thing, even if it changes three times during the season.

As for swapping between groups, wouldn’t that be inflicting pain on yourself? Especially since the translations aren’t all the same >_> I say pick the group with the best quality and stick with it till they either finish it, or drop it. If they drop it, wait for the next decent group to pick it up, instead grabbing the first release to pop up online. You’re only begging for messy folders doing it any other way. =_=

I like the way you named the manga torrent file, personally. With the Title info first, then the group info in brackets at the end.

But I’m with odin final in that as long as it’s finished, and consistent, I can live with it.

Then again, I can always change the file name…

Are you a fag who download shows from different groups? For long running shows that keeps getting dropped and picked up I suppose I could understand, but most of them are shounen shit that nobody cares to download since their target audience are mainly stream fags. CRC checksum has its use too, just because you don’t use it doesn’t mean others don’t.

I agree, there should be a standardization of file naming.
I don’t mind brackets around the group name personally. I don’t even mind the group putting there name in the front of the file as long as they finish the series so you don’t end up with a random mix of episodes when arranged by name. Dattebayo comes to mind, they have nonstop subbed 100’s of episodes with there name in the front but I can still sort all the episodes by name because they are consistent.

Still I would like to see the fansub community as a whole make a change like this.
