The downloads is possible because of newsgroups. I downloaded all the episodes from newsgroups first and then started downloading the episodes from u directly. However on occasion another group will release an episode on newsgroups faster than you. It doesn’t happen often though.
himmel were faster than us twice, but i dont see how newsgroups could get our version first before we release it.
they don’t but i didnt discover the anime until it popped up on the top few of animenewsnetwork. Then I downloaded as much as i could from the newsgroups but once i was done with the ones posted there I found your site.

One possibility is that people have been watching episodes using streaming services (such as veoh) until the most recent episode, and started torrenting from that episode onwards. That’s what I did with Toradora! as well, I watched the episodes on veoh until ep16, but since ep16, I’m now downloading them directly from CoalGuys.
why did you do that and not continue watching on veoh?
I’m guessing because after you catch up to the latest episode, you’re only going to get 1 episode per week, so it’s worth the wait for it to download so you can watch it in good quality =p
This, and the fact that downloading directly from subbing groups allows you to watch the episode earlier than waiting for the episode to be uploaded.
The reason why I watch some anime on veoh instead of downloading it is because you can watch them whenever you want, even right after another if you want to, without having to wait for the next episode download to finish. Once that’s no longer possible, I just download the newest episodes via torrents.
